[Screening donors by capillary testing]

Does anyone perform capillary testing to screen donors for antigens? Negative antigen typings would of course have to be confirmed by using the manufacturer's directions.

[Antibody identification on the Echo]

We have been live on our Echo for about 6 weeks. Currently we are only performing Type and Screens on the Echo but are in the process of validating Antibody Identifications. I would like to know what other institutions using the Echo are doing about the autocontrol when performing ABID on the Echo.

I would like to know what other institutions are doing about this. Are you trying to give only Rh negative platelets to Rh negative women of child bearing age? Are you giving Rhogam if you can't get Rh negative platelets?
