  1. Thank you for your response.. I probably should have mentioned that The reason fir the test was not to look for crossmatch/ transfusion. It was done because the patient has low platelets and is anemic. (iron and b12 are ok) It is the beginning of more bloodwork, and I am trying to decipher where this is headed. Thank you!!!
  2. New to the board, not sure if this is where this should be posted. Results from Direct and indirect Coombs test: Component : Your result BLOOD GROUP ANTIBODY SCREEN NEGATIVE DIRECT COOMBS TEST USING POLYSPECIFIC REAGENT POSITIVE DIRECT COOMBS TEST USING IGG SPECIFIC REAGENT POSITIVE BLOOD BANK COMMENT DIRECT COOMS NEG WITH PREWARM CELLS DIRECT COOMBS TEST USING COMPLEMENT SPECIFIC REAGENT POSITIVE ------- I somewhat understand what a positive Coombs test means, however the bloodbank comment about the prewarm cells confuses me. Does this mean that it was indeed negative or still a positive Coombs test? thank yoU!
