It could be a case of minor incompatibility caused by the O platelets transfused with a powerful anti A
In the previous answer I had mentioned this, but apparently no one was interested
-
Just a follow up: my pt is on his way for BMT. His serum anti-A1 only was apparent in one specimen . . . never recurred on subsequent T&Ss. His DAT is now negative (must have finally gotten rid of all the A1 cells). His ABO typing is mixed field, as would be expected. The Transplant folks are aware of his serologies.
Thanks to everyone for thier input.

In the dutch guide lines it is allowed to have a antibody in the donor plasma if the titer is below 32. A weak antibody is (as Malcolm stated) no problem, so you do not have to perform the most sensitive methode.
Peter
How did you determine that 32 dils was the critical titer?
Are there studies that support this?

It is, but it may be under Academic Press, rather than Elsevier, as AP is an imprint of Elsevier (whatever that may mean!).
Thank you Malcolm, I easily found the book in AP. This third edition should contain the latest changes and should be an excellent source of data.

Hi Malcolm, I found the table in ISBT website!!!!!. Thank you all for your answers
-
Thanks Malcolm, the ISBT Web site must have been updated recently because until recently that was not there.
Regarding the book of Marion Reid, apparently still not available because I searched in Elsevier and the book was not on its list.

At the Congress of Cancun was added 3 new blood group systems: FORS, JR and Lan, also been added and removed some antigens from other groups in recent years and so far I have not found a book or website that shows the new classification and the quantity of antigens per blood group system. Now there are 33 blood group systems and 299 antigens.
Would greatly appreciate if anyone has references this.

Due to the flexibility of the equipment, it is possible to create the assay with liquid cell, however keep in mind that the cells could settle out because no possibility of adding stirrball therefore the assay should work immediately and on the other hand is the validation method that required in your country.
