Annabelle
I am interested in the percentage of QNS whole blood collections that other blood centers are encountering, if anyone is willing to share. We had 81 QNS collections from 2709 donor phlebotomies in July (3%). Just wondering how we compare. Thanks for any input.

EVAY
Our 2005 year-to-date QNS discard rate is 1.5%. We have recently expanded our collection region and have hire new staff to cover this region. Over 30% of our staff have less then 1 year on-the -job experience. Hopefully, our staff will stablize and we will see a drop in the our QNS rate.
MicheleKay
Just curious....are you using trip scales or blood collection mixers? Our donor room uses collection mixers and they seem have no problem with QNS units. However, I do not have ALL their statistics, but I did ask!! Annabelle
We currently use trip scales, but have purchased the Hemoflow automated mixers for implementation in the near future.
