Anyone heard of the use of autologous cell salvage machine for washing allogeneic blood? How do you validate the "off label" use? What type of QC? Should the units be treated in the same way as units washed in the transfusion service? Any FDA or other regulatory /accreditation body issue with this process? Look forward to your responses

I'm doing research on the problems with blood recovery use, or lack thereof, and posting a survey. I'm looking to find out if you use it, what are your current problems, and if you don't...why?
