  1. I believe Sunquest can't say too much about ISBT128 and Hema Trax since they do not have 510(k) for the version with interface. They need to follow rules and be careful.

I am trying to get information from Cerner as to Hema Trax status on Classic but probably similar situation...we'll see. I do know Cerfner Classic is working on interface.

  2. Hi Sunquest and Cerner Classic users. Digi-Trax has signed contracts with both to interface Hema Trax into both and the work is proceeding at both companies. I understand the Sunquest is quickly closing in on their client side. I will try to contact both companies to try to get an update for all. In the meantime you might contact your rep or inside support at Cerner or Sunquest to ask.

  3. Hello:

Digi-Trax is the only company with an interfaced ISBT128 label system (Hema Trax TCP/IP. We are interfaced with every US blood bank software system.

In addition we have a VERY competitive Hema Trax PC Stand-Alone product with many features not found in any other system (full updated ISBT128 data base,

3 level password protection, complete audit trail reporting and much more).

We can arrange for a real time on-line demonstration or have one of our sales people contact you (info@digi-trax.com, www.digi-trax.com,

    800-356-6126)

  4. I am very certain that everyone concerned in the industry did not know all the remifications of ISBT128 for the various types of facilities, including AABB, ICCBBA, and FDA. Digi-Trax as a key industry supplier of Hema Trax on-demand ISBT128 labeling printers, software and labels can be a good source of consultive support for implementation. We suggest you contact our sales group for help. (800-356-6126; info@digi-trax.com)

  5. Although ARC is committed to ISBT128 their new computer system which implements ISBT is not ready with 510(k) and to roll out at all locations will take some time, thus AABB granted a delay for ARC but not for others. Most ABC and all other blood centers are moving forward to meet May 1, 2008 date. ARC must and can receive ISBT128 since other places like the military are shippng ISBT128 labeled blood already.

  6. The FDA recently restated its requirement for bar coding of all blood and blood products. Further they restated their support for the use of ISBT128. AABB has reaffirmed its required implementation by May 1, 2008 and although a blood bank can petition for a delay the die is cast and Abbott ought to get on board.

  7. Hi Colleen:

Digi-Trax has released Version 3.0.1 to all our software vendor partners for thier validation etc. This version has all new codes and changes. Once your software vendor releases this version you will be current. All the changes are on our web site under Hema Trax Software...SEE the 3.0 server manual...Hi Lited In Yellow!

  8. Sheri:

It sounds as if you have a Meditech problem interpreting the ISBT128 Product Code divisions and suggest discussing with them.

    Mabel:

Have you considered a lower cost Hema Trax stand-alone PC IBBT128 on-demand print system from Digi-Trax? Has complete ISBT128 product Code data base and is keep current with software updates, plus you can add your own products.

  9. Hope this is useful from the perspective of an ICCBBA registered vendor. The ISBT128 standards and FDA require that all products, modified products, splits and divisions be bar coded. Under ISBT128 these are all new products and have their own ISBT128 product codes unlike Codabar. Hema Trax on-demand labeling which is available as a stand-alone PC product or interfaced to Meditech Magic and Client/Server has the entire 4000 plus US products in the data base.

The Unit Number or DIN in ISBT128 only identifies the original blood donor and has no connection to the productor modifiction.

You may wish to look at our web site for more information regarding on-demand printing (www.digi-trax.com)

  10. :) As a Meditch user we suggest you contact DIgi-Trax at 800-356-6126. We have a 4 X 4 label with a back split that is designed to attach to syringe so only a portion sticks and the balance is a flag that hangs off so as not to cover the syringe...can probably be used with pedi-pack. This is all a part of our Hema Trax on-demand ISBT128 labeling system which is interfaced to all Meditech versions.
  11. Many Cerner Classic users that need to print the many productcodes now needed with ISBT128 implementation have opted to buy Digi-Trax's Hema Trax PC stand-alone systemhas ALL ISBT128 products in the data base. Hema Trax has password protection and a suite of full audit trail reports. You can develop your own "Quik-Pik" list and Hema Trax auto calculates the exp. date for all codes and prints both eye read and bar code. Visi www.digi-trax.com or contact us for a webinar demo at info@digi-trax.com.

  12. If you have registered with the ICCBBA and gotten your Facility Identification Number (FIN) then you can get the full Product Label Data Base from the web site www.iccbba.org and get the Codabar to ISBT128 translation table. Cerner Millennium will have the complete ISBT128 data base with its interface to Hema Trax on-demand label print system. Classic users can use Hema Trax stand-alone which also has the complete data base.
