The Sysmex XS 1000i is a small Hematology instrument. The platelet linearity is from 0 to 6891. When I perform a parallel with the Sysmex XE-2100 (our main Hematology instrument) results between both instruments are all within lineairty and they are within =/-10.

We switched from the Dispette 2 to ESR STAT Plus. It is automated and only takes 5 minutes to run. We save on controls and waste products. We use a very small amount of voluem to run. It is pretty cool. QC works good too. It is worth checking. It is made by HemaTechnologies Inc (908-828-9430)

We are currently using Sysmex XE-2100 and XS-1000i. We love sysmex. A lot of hospitals have been switching to Sysmex Hematology instruments lately.

Years ago we dropped reporting % differentials on our CBCs. The idea being that absolute counts are more significant if elevated or lowered. There is still some contention here among the techs as to whether %s should be still be used to screen for slide review (eg, high lymphs to be screened for reactive or atypical morphology).
Do any other labs still report or otherwise make decisions based on % counts for automated diffs?
I concur with SilverBlood. :)

For those who perform semen analysis for fertility work-ups, do you reject a sample if it is outside your defined acceptable temperature range, or do you perform the testing and note the deviation on the report?
:)It is best to follow these criteria (see attachments) and reject them if they do not fall with in the standards. Why make a patient pay for inaccurate results and have to redo it properly the second time around?
