Hello, Does anyone know of a good blood bank software system that would be good for a blood center reference laboratory? We have several different locations of reference labs who often share patients. However, we don't have a good LIS that supports patients so we cannot perform patient history checks effectively. Also, we are a transfusion service providing testing and crossmatching for a couple of facilities and would like to take the current manual process and automate it allowing printed crossmatch tags for the units. Thanks for your help!

There is no requirement that I know of for regular frozen / deglycerolized units. However, our Medical Director wants to license our frozen RBCs because our Reference Laboratory ships frozen RBCs to other blood centers at times. Bacterial testing is a requirement to license these products, but we can't find any information out on the best method to perform the testing.
