Has anyone heard of running two positive and two negative controls with each test run of A1 Lectin and A2 Cells? I am told by a facility it was an AABB requirement. I have found no reference for it. They are running the current in-date positive and negative control reagents plus the last, expired positive and negative control reagents. I thought using expired controls would be in violation of CAP TRM.31250 (All reagents are used within their indicated expiration date).

I do AABB Assessments and as far as I know you need to follow your insert. It says nothing about running 2 controls or using an expired control. The only thing I read is that in older cells, the reaction may be weaker.
