Is anyone using this combination?

Is the Mobilab label format different that the Meditech label format?

Does phlebotomist return with labeled tubes or free labels and labeled tubes?

The Mobilab label has all the info that Meditch has. Our phlebots return with the labeled tubes. If labels are needed we print them in the lab.

Does MobiLab use the individualized module (LAB, MICRO and BBK) labels as defined in the Label Format dictionary or a single generalized format for all modules in Meditech?

Mobilab uses a Mobilab format.  It has items in different places than the ones we have set up in Meditech, but all the information is there.

BankerGirl,

My BBK Label format is highly modified for our purposes, e.g., these items are printed only on the BBK label:  Historical Blood Type, antibodies identified, newborn's time of birth, patient's mri number barcode.  Will I lose these?

I doubt that these additional items will be on the mobilab label.  You can still print the labels out of Meditech for you information if that is something you need.  The MRI will be printed on the labels.  I didn't set up the labels for Mobilab.  All of our Mobilab labels look identical to each other but we don't have anything fancy like that on our regular BB labels.

Thanks for your input BankerGirl.

What is the size of the MobiLab label, is it smaller or larger than your standard Meditech label?

We have custom label designs for our non-mobilab labels, but I believe that the dimensions are close to 1.25 x 2 inches.

We are fine with the Mobilab labels, but do print Meditech labels because Moblilab doesn't have the small separating tags which we use to label our gel cards for the antibody screen.

DANSKET, one thing you could do is format a label with all that extra info you like to be on your tickets as an aliquot label. Call the label BBHISTORY or something and it should pop out when your specimen is received in the computer. Just add the aliquot label to all of the tests you want that info on.
