I need to put into place a policy for providing HLA matched platelets, platelet crossmatching, and providing granulocytes for transfusion.

 

I was wondering if anyone can help that has a policy already in place that they can send me a copy of so I can make a similar one.

We kind of skirted it by saying our policy is to contact our reference lab for guidance.  We'll see what they think on our next AABB inspection!

We just wrote up what we do when we need to order HLA matched platelets.  This mostly described paperwork that goes to our reference lab for HLA testing and how to process the unit in our BBIS so it wouldn't be of much use to someone not on Haemonetics Safe-Trace Tx BBIS.
