Hi every one

 

What is the maximum time it can leave the platelets unit out of the agitator after separated from whole blood unit  and so are not affected its function?

  • Are you in the UK? If so we were recently told by NBTS that it is 24 hours if they have not been out of temperature and they pass the 'swirl test' for integrity.

Thanks to everyone who interact with this subject, but my question is not intended to during transportation, but after the separation process the platelets units left upside down for an hour to resettle  in the remaining plasma,then placed in the agitator until they are shipping, the remained units of platelets for a long time in this situation more than ten hours, for example, is it possible that it affects the quality of platelets ?
