Just had a FANTASTIC time at the BBTS ASM, where I learned so much.

 

The highlight for me was listening to Marion Reid giving her James Blundell Award lecture (amongst many other excellent lectures) and having her sign my copy of the FactsBook!  The attached photograph shows her talking to Martin Bruce OBE, the BBTS President.  The other photograph shows some old fool relaxing after the lectures!!

 

Worked hard - played hard - now exhausted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for posting the picture of Marion! She told me was getting the award and I so wished I could "hop the pond" to go. I'm glad she is enjoying her retirement but she is seriously missed over here! 

I kind of liked seeing the gentleman "doing" a pint of some dark, foamy liquid . . . whilst some "stranger" observed in the background

I am envious - I really want to go but am always at the bottom of the list when it comes to allocating places. And that's even when there is funding available

I thought the stranger in the background was just trying to remember where he left his glass! He did look a little perplexed.

I agree with Dr Pepper - not only where the glass is, but having trouble with the math on how many!

 

Good Luck to you Malcolm. Unfortunately BBTS clashed with a meeting here in Ireland and I missed it - first year in a while - otherwise, we could have shared some more.

It was only my second BBTS meeting and it was very good. My memory of the scientific part will, I'm afraid, blur in years to come, but I bet I'll always remember the time I got to say hi to Malcolm in the flesh.
