  • On the A120 if you are performing CSF, you do need a seperate set of QC.  They are used in the CSF mode under manual sample ID.  When running pleural, peritoneal, synovial, bronch wash, etc......no ad

Yes, we do use it for body fluid analysis!!  It is very nice!!  No manual counting :) We also have a Advia 120 which we run our CSF's and synovials on.  Other body fluids we run on the 2120i.

Hi, I am working with an Advia for the 1st time, and at a new place. They do not use thier Advia 120 for body fluids b/c they say they dont want the cost of the extra body fluid QC material...at the place I came from we did not have a "body fluid QC" just normal QC and ran body fluids on the our Sysmex. I am just wondering is the Advia truly different that way and we do need a certian QC to run body fluids.

Thanks for the help!

Waaah I hate the Advias :( Never known an analyser so finnicky and unreliable :(

As for fluids - we dont offer a differential so they are run under standard mode. I'm new to this current place and not sure I 100% agree with this yet...
