Just wanted to ask...since Hospira is discontinuing the 20 micron filter, what is everyone else using out there for pre-filtering syringes for Neonates? I remember having syringe sets from BD that have an in-line filter (a long while ago), also remember them being pretty expensive.

Seeking alternatives to what we currently use...

Thanks

We use the syringe sets from BD. I am not sure how their price compares to other available products. We do not have OB though, we only keep them for the occasions where we get babies as trauma patients, so the cost is not a big concern.

I'm really stretching the memory here but I think we got out neonate syringes from Charter Medical and they had the in-line filter.  I'm not even sure the company still exists, that was over 5 years ago.  :confuse:

Ours (Pediatric Transfer set with 150 u filter) come from Charter Med.  They have options with and without a syringe attached.
