We use DIGI-SENSE catalog # 86460-05

I believe I got it from FIsher.

And we take temperature everyday. (we turnoff out thermometer during the day and turn it on every morning/one of my tech said the battery last only weeks if we keep it on 24/7).

  • The centrifuge radius is probably a bit different so different RPMs gives the same g force.  I had to rewrite procedures and forms to accommodate our different RPMs at our different sites.

You are unable to purchase just the incubator anymore. When I called to get a quote they said they stopped making them. You have to purchase the new combo.

For awhile you couldn't even get centrifuge parts but our Biomed guy was able to get a latch recently for the old centrifuge.  Maybe they got a lot of backlash about their new workstation design so decided they had better support the old ones awhile longer.

Per the reference guide for temperature verification: fill reaction chamber with 100 uL of DI or distilled water... do not tape over the top of the measurment reaction chamber.

Are people using a new well every day for the temperature?  or just taping over the hole to slow the drying out of the gel?  It also says that temp verification is "as needed."  Daily is just making sure the light is green.  Anyone going with that?  Thanks!

My facility just purchased the Ortho workstation, however, I need to validate it before putting it into use. Can anyone help?
