Hi everyone!

Has anyone ever had the experience with platelets where the reaction is dyspnea, back pain, rigors, chest pain but there is no evidence of TRALI (xray negative) and the patient received washed platelets?  The reaction workup was clean and there are no HLA antibodies.

Any experiences would be appreciated :)

Thanks!

Are there platelet antibodies?  Very strong anti-IgA?  Doesn't sound like a bacterial reaction.
