Is it possible to use SoftBank with a different LIS?  If yes, how does the ordering work?

Thanks!

Generally speaking they can interface anything if you have the money to spend and it can be very expensive.  Good luck because a good interface is usually money well spent.

You would have to discuss this interface with both vendors.  You may have to order manually in you BBIS if they cannot or will not interface.

We have Softbank and our Lab has Sunquest.  We did not interface Softbank with Sunquest, which in retrospect was a big mistake.  Orders come from the HIS, are split with a "dummy" test going to Sunquest so phlebotomy knows to collect a speciment.  The "real" test goes to Softbank.  We have to result the dummy test as "received" to get it off the pending logs but the result does not get sent back.  Only the test results from Softbank are sent back.  It adds some extra steps that we would not have if orders and results had been interfaced through Sunquest.  Our lab will be going to Epic Beaker and we will remain on Softbank.   It remains to be decided how the interface will work.

We also have SoftBank; have been live for a little over 2 years. Our HIS is Epic, and we have Epic Beaker for our Lab system. Orders are placed in Epic and come by interface into SoftBank. We are only interfaced with EpicCare, not Beaker, but now we are investigating that because it will fix some issues we currently have. Do you like SoftBank?  We may be in the same situation soon, Epic with Beaker and then we will have to choose a BB system.

thanks!

We LOVE SoftBank. We looked at a few stand alone systems, and we really liked SoftBank the best. We had many interfacing issues and the Soft people were instrumental in making it happen.

Private message me if you have any specific questions about either system.
