We have been noticing that the Ortho 0.8% Selectogen Screening Cells seem to appear "junky" as they near their expiration date. Today, I didn't like the look of more than one patient screen, so I ran a DAT on the cells. (I also tested the patients with other screening cells, with clear negative results.) Imagine my surprise when I obtained a positive DAT on cell 1!!! Has anyone else noticed similar problems? I phoned Ortho and they are giving me credit for this set of cells.

Interesting and upsetting at the same time! Is it IgG alone or AHG?
