Hi Everyone!!

Just had a quick question about the newest software update for the Echo - the package insert say you don't need to validate but ... does anyone want to share their validation for a software update on the Echo or does anyone have any ideas they are willing to share :o

Thanks for all your help in advance!!

Sara

Agreed John. Why invent work for yourself?

This update doesn't have an alterations for results interpretation or parameters involving patient results. That's why there's not a specific sample validation piece this time. Don't worry, if there is, there's lots of validation Immucor makes you perform.

We just repeated the daily QC and 2 pts we had done just before the upgrade - put it all together and filed it. Makes us feel better.

Did the update Friday and it now aborts the run if the incubator is even 0.1 degrees off. Not even the human body is that picky. Will see how this goes during a busy day, which Sat & Sun were not.

Did it go out high or low - what were your temps when it aborted?

Our blood bank did the exact same thing. The regulators have us all well trained to use both belts and suspenders, just in case!
