I'm curious, has anyone established (or been able to control) plt pheresis transfusion guidelines for patients having open heart surgery while on plavix?

Our guidelines are give them what they want until the surgeon feels the patient is no longer oozing or in danger of bleeding out again. I have given up to 4 pheresis before but its usually only 1 -2 . Our pathologists haven't been able to find concrete published guidelines for plavix users.

There was a recent article in Transfusion on this subject:

Volume 52, Issue 4, April 2012, Pages: 695–701

How do I transfuse platelets (PLTs) to reverse anti-PLT drug effect?
