Terri it is simply a sign of how stressful the profession really is at times. Sad to say.

I found an article on-line at Forbes, who was quoting another publication, that MLTs have one of the 10 LEAST stressful jobs in the US. The 'professional' journalist who wrote that piece obviously hasn't got a clue, didn't do any research (like actually talking to or observing a medical lab) or ever visited a hospital laboratory...ever!

You can always break 12x75 test tubes!

Have to admit that throwing them in the waste, with enthusiasm, can be an enjoyable experience at times. (Only after they have been used of course and being careful about splatters!)

Wow! Good to know librarians have more stress than we do. They could misfile a book and someone could die. Oh yeah....NOT!

If this is one of the Least stressful jobs in the US I cringe to think of what would be at the top of the list...Maybe dog walker??

They said the most stressful job was combat soldier and 2nd most stressful was the general who sends them into combat. That I can agree with.

Just made me think of a worker we had years ago who was quite deaf. She was a great tech and did remarkably well with her disability. One day we were puzzled to hear glass breaking at rather regular intervals, say 15 seconds apart. We looked around the corner and saw that she was numbering a long series of tubes, which were slowly rolling off of the counter one by one and falling and breaking.

I've had techs do that who could hear as good as you or me...
