We have recently restarted washing pipettes at our facility after 4 years of sending them off to one of our offsite labs. We have a procedure in place, but have had a hard time finding(remembering) what to use as an indicator to determine the detergent has been rinsed completely away. Does anybody have a suggestion and for a product/manufacturer. We would ask the person who was doing it for us prior, but she has left under bad circumstances.

I guess disposable pipettes are not an option?

After pipets are washed, dried and cooled, take one of the pipets and fill with distilled, deionized water. After you allow several drops to pass through, you will place drop on pH paper. If the pH is 5-7, you can use them. Greater than 7 re-wash.
