I have searched and can't find the link to the video done by the British comedy team on blood transfusion errors. Can anyone point me to it?

Interesting note: when one searches for "comedy" on BBT, it finds no matches. You'd think we were a pretty serious bunch. :)

Oh I know that one! I saw that at Phil Learoyd's training course at BTS Manchester in the UK.

I'll try to get hold of Phil via the BBTS office tomorrow (lazy Devil has retired now) and see if I can get a link.

There is also the Tony Hancock episode called "The Blood Donor"; funny, but way off the mark.

It's called The Strange case of Penny Allison with Hugh Laurie and Imelda Staunton. Apparently available on UTube, although haven't tried.

You can also order a DVD or CD ROM copy from the UK National Blood Service website. http://hospital.blood.co.uk/training/penny_allison/index.asp

The UTube version only includes about 9 minutes of the 18 minutes. So if the price is 20 pounds British sterling, what would that be in US dollars. I watched the short version on UTube, hilarious.

I just watched part 1 and part 2 on YouTube last night. It was indeed hilarious, but had really good messages about how to ensure transfusion safety at the end. Wish I could play it for every doctor and nurse in my hospital.

Googling how to save this to my computer and rip to a CD......

Or you could just purchase it legally... It's one of the few ways our NHS to make money.

Posted the link of Facebook and there was uproar from my nurse friends saying how patronising... Ooops

I don't know that there are two parts of the film. I think I got the full version from start to end (include the what is supposed to be done, instead of what happened) in one piece, but I will check the duration again.

it's fun from the beginning where the audience was informed that if the audience has already know all the things, s/he can go straight to sleep. another one of the funniest thing is about how the staff informed the new patient where to find a certain room. it reminds me about me informing the same thing for a new patient, and in the end, I just said, "follow me."
