anyone out there have to replace their coiled power cord (ie the one inside the centrifuge)?

Not at this point. Our unit is 10 years old and we were told by Ortho that parts for our version are becoming scarce. Looks like we may need to consider a new unit if anything does go wrong.

We frequently experience that internal power cord getting caught up inside when the techs shut the door. We have Biomed come up and open the unit to free the cord, but it has not been damaged enough yet that we need to replace it. We did however manage to break the door latch. The bad part was that Biomed had to break another part to get the door open, so now we have to replace two parts! Apparently it is not easy to get to the internal parts of the MTS centrifuge. We are part of a multisystem of hospitals, so we have an extra centrfuge we share just in case someone is down.
