I am curious what other hospitals do for RhIG. Do you require a separate physician order for the injection itself or just give it out due to the result of a positive Fetalscreen or RhIG testing workup?

Physicians order a RhIg workup. Blood Bank decides the testing indicated. The result options include "Given", "Refused", and "Not Indicated". When the work is complete blood bank notifies OB of the availability of the RhIg injection.

Same as Deny above...Docs order the work-up and BB takes it from there. If testing does not show the need for RhIG we footnote the work-up that the "RhIg is not indicated for this patient."
