does anyone use CPT 85060 to bill lab component of prep and sending a peripheral smear for review to a Pathologist off-site? I think the Pathologist also may bill his Professional component with 85060 also? Thanks if you can share.

From a clinic (outpatient) persepctive we do the billing for the 85060. The pathologist group has a contract with us to provide director services and this is considered part of their service to us. Therefore they do not bill for the PC.
