Enjoy Deny.

If you get to speak to him, please give him my very kindest regards.

The venue was set up for a seat count of 60. I did have a chance to meet Dr. Garratty after his presentations. He is a very down-to-earth gentleman. He indicated he had just returned from the UK on Sunday. He spoke highly of you Malcolm, as I would have expected. The lectures were fascinating and gave me several things to think about related to red cell destruction and on the topic of compatability testing for patients with RBC autoantibodies. He is looking forward to the event in September in the UK. It was well worth the 10.5 hours of travel total that day. If anyone has a chance to hear this man speak, take the opportunity.

A quick thank-you to the River Valley Region of the American Red Cross for hosting this event. The venue was stunning, and the details well handled.

I'm glad you enjoyed it Deny. George is a simply fantastic, knowledgable speaker, with an ability to put across his subject in such a way that anyone can understand it (sorry, Deny, that sounds a bit rude about your ability, but I hope you know what I mean!), and the word "gentleman" sums him up.

He was very kind with his words about me, and thank you for giving him my kindest regards.

No offense taken regarding my ability (compared to this man it would be accurate!!). Several of the people in attendance were non-technical. More than once did I hear a comment to the effect that Dr. Garratty was able to bring something mired in language and technical detail down to laymans terms. I think most of the non-technical were in over their head pertaining to the subject matter, but were able to follow along due to the speaker's explainations. Enjoy the lecture in September. As I said, he seems excited about the venue and opportunity.
