I am in the market for a replacement Blood Bank Refrigerator for our surgery area. The current one is an old under the counter model, which does fit our needs. We are looking for a small unit, preferably with a build in chart recorder/alarm. We do not need a full sized frig. Does anyone have a small BB frig that they would share their experience/manufacturer information.

Helmer makes an under counter, we have had good luck with it.

I would also suggest the undercounter Helmer model; we have one and we love it.

You won't go wrong with Helmer products

I have the Gem unit that my biomed suggested. It was a lot less in price and very tight temps even during multiple door openings. I also purchased one of their combo units for another off-site that needed a refrigerator and freezer but not enough room to have 2 seperate units. It was able to maintain temps perfectly even after the bldg lost air conditioning last summer and the room was over 110F. Good Luck in your search

Jewett also has a nice undercounter model. We have been using them for years. I like Helmer products, but I have not tried their undercounter model. They were not able to produce it quickly when we had a need and Jewett was.

We also use Jewett for our undercounter model. It has been great unit and model BBR6 comes with one drawer and the temperature/alarm monitor.
