Our facility wants to share the use of irradiator with research group that need to irradiate their products. Is that allowed if we follow all the necessary requirements under AABB, CAP with the 25GY at the center, dose mapping, maintenance etc? Any regulations with FDA, AABB or CAP? We are AABB and CAP accreditated but our facility is not in the USA.

Pull out your Standards and take a look - as I read it, if you validate it and maintain it, it is acceptable to use.

We've used the X-ray dept in the past but you have to work your products in based on their patient scheduling.

We had to back off of that when their pt load became heavy and they just couldn't fit us in.
