I have worked in places that were FDA inspected, AABB and CAP accredited, and hospitals that were Joint Commission accredited. One of the hospitals that was part of the system I just left was looking at substituting DNV for JCAHO.

HI,

A bit confused (synapses slow as we age perhaps) - are you talking about lab accreditation or personal certification?

If it lab, we are accredited to ISO:15189 and also inspected by the Medicines Board (as blood is a therapeutic product is their reasoning on that one). The hospital is laso accredited to Joint Commision International and they inspect the lab as well, but the ISO requirements well cover the Joint Commision requirements, with only a couple of extras. Both are looking at a controlled system which had evidence of continual quality improvement.

Personal certification requirements will vary from country to country.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Eoin
