I, personally, miss the "Thanks" button immensely.

I like to be able to show my appreciation to those who have made a salient point or who have educated me.

      OK, I have enabled it again for a test period. If all goes well, I'll leave it enabled. The site emails me all database errors, so if I start seeing them again I'll need to disable it. As I mentioned

    The good news is, in the future there will be a similar tool that will allow you to show your thanks.

    For now I've turned on the Reputation system.

    You can click on the little star icon at the bottom of the post and it will increase the posters reputation (so to speak).

    May be we could have Karma points and power levels as well as thanks buttons etc ...like some other sites????- could make it exciting, though I'm not quite sure the significance of them.

    Anyway, I am still convinced it was all Malcolm's fault the thanks button self destructed!!
