Does anyone have a recipe for making in-house QC material to QC complement reagent?

We use C3b-C3d. I know you can purchase QC but wondered if anyone made their own.

Thanks !

Quotient Biodiagnostics (Alba Scientific across "the pond") is working on a kit which will allow you to prepare your own. Not available in the US - I don't know about "over there". I heard this on last Friday from there US Technical Specialist.

what do you use as negative control for Ortho anti-C3b,C3d reagent.....package insert recommends using "

The negative control is a test with washed, enzyme-treated red cells"

These might be stupid questions but I am goign to ask anyway:

how do you run your QC for anti-IgG &/or anti-IgG,anti-C3d reagents...

do you wash it three times and then add your IgG reagent?

do you add check cells to your negative control???

Thank you

I do my testing in gel . . . buffered gel card for anti-C3b,-C3d. For neg ct I run the pt cells with diluent.

I may have misunderstood this . . . my patient test is my negative control (unless it is positive - very rare for my institution).

We use the Immucor control cells - They provide Positive only - but like David, we use a patient with no histroy or symptoms as a negative (usually someone in for elective surgery group, screen & hold).

Cheers
