I occassionally get confused with this, and will need some help from the experts to clarify my doubt.

We had a patient who had a type and screen done and received rogham. On day 1 of the screen the patient delivered, and on day 2 of the screen, a post rhogam was ordered with a fetal screen. Since the screen is still within the last 72 hours, do we still need to do another type and screen, or do we only perform the fetal screen and issue the rhogam. If we have to do another screen considering the other isnt past the 72 hours window, why?

If I do a T&S on an OB admission and they deliver within 72 hrs and are a candidate for RhIg, I do not repeat the absc. I do perform an ABORh on the new specimen.

We don't repeat the screen within the 3 day window. We don't even do the full ABO. We do repeat the Rh through weak D.
