For those of you in reference labs that use lectins, do you purchase them or make them? The Judd Method book has excellent procedures and I was curious if anyone ventured into this. HemoBioScience has a lectin kit, but perhaps making them is more economical. To obtain IRL accreditation, we are required to have lectins that are not on the market. Thanks in advance for your input.

We certainly purchase ours. The reason is that, if we made our own, we would have to test every batch to get it CE marked (a sort of guantee that it works required by the European Union).

Are ther other vendors than HemoBioscience that sell the kit of several lectins?
