We are setting up Verax bacterial detection for our random donor platelets. We are struggling with how to set this up in our LIS. We will be pooling segments from 6 units of randoms and testing the segment pool. We want the LIS to create the pool id number for the segments. We are trying to keep it simple, yet as electronic as possible. Has anyone set this testing up in their LIS? Thanks.

This is an old topic, and likely most of the issues have been worked out for the major LIS systems in use.  If anyone is still having challenges, I'd suggest either contacting Verax directly (they may either already have a solution or know a customer using the same LIS) or your LIS vendor (who may also already have a solution or can check their customer database for other Verax users).
