we are some times re centrifuging sagm added blood unit to remove its sagm+plasma content in order convert it into a prbc for neonatal use.......does this removal change the expiry date to 24 hours....

i got cofused with a statement from circular of information 2009...regarding this...please help me to it .

Yes. Once you remove the plasma/additive solution you have removed the "fuel" for the cells which will shorten their expiration date. The cells will not survive normally without their preservative solution.
