Hi all....There has been talk in the blood bank fraternity in India off late that the Ortho ECI (Chemiluminiscence technology) is not allowed for use in donor screening for TTI in blood banks in some countrie like US. I am planning to procure a system for my blood bank and find Ortho ECI the most appropiate but.... Is this true or just a rumor circulated by other companies?

I think much of that comes from the fact the Ortho does not have clearance for all of the hepatitis testing yet through our FDA. I am not sure which tests are required in India.
