So after reading all of your responses, I looked into the matter a little more (since we have pre-pooled Cryo. waiting for us; as soon as I get this SOP out).

Some of the important responses to consider:

1. Was a sterile connecting device used in the pooling process?

2. Was saline added in the pooling process?

So, what I found out for us is that the 2 Facilities from which our Donor Center imports these pre-pooled Cryo, do use a sterile connecting device when pooling the Cryo., and they do not add saline (so that does not come into play for us at all). If it is true that there currently is no saline available that can be sterile connected to the Cryo. Bags then for those Centers that use Saline, I guess the 4 hour update is correct. For me (and with the confident instructions of our Donor Facility), we can use 6 hours based on the process used. :)

Thanks for all of your input!
