Does anyone perform capillary testing to screen donors for antigens? Negative antigen typings would of course have to be confirmed by using the manufacturer's directions.

I have screened for a single antigen when we had a very small amount of antisera. While interesting, it is not a technique to use if you have to screen for multiple antigens.

When I was visiting my facility's reference lab the other day, I overheard them talk about capillary testing. Although they have a procedure for it, most techs only perform it annually as part of their competency assessment.
