To be in compliance with the TRM's 32216 and 32232, I would like to know what other facilities do for their MTS dispensers for the Dil 2 and Dil 2 Plus containers used for the ortho gel system? How are these checked for calibration and who does it? As for accuracy, what methods are being used to check accuracy? How often do you check for accuracy of the dispensers?

We bleach ours once a week and as we are running the DI water through it for the rinse we squirt 10 squirts (5 mL) into a 10 mL graduated cylinder. Tolerance limits are +/- 0.5 mL.

Per the insert, we rinse ours 1mL dispenser weekly with Alcohol and DI water. We test 10 dispenses at 10.0 + 0.5 mL after each cleaning.

We follow manuf. insert. We clean our 0.5 ml and 1 mL dispensers with 10% alcohol and Distilled water every week.

Remember, minute amounts of bleach can destroy the S antigen. Hence the alcohol the manufacturer suggests, I imagine.
