We need to open a new work station. The only peice of equipment that we need is a centrifuge. Currently we are using the old Clay Adams Sero-fuge II. I would like to find out what others are using and their over all opinion. Thank-you in advance for your help.

Helmer sales the Hettich Zentrifugen EBA 21. We have 3 of them and really like them. They are fast, quite and have a fairly small foot print.

Clay-Adams II were what we had, and went to the new serofuges (based on past performance) the Serofuge 2001...stay away from them! I have had to replace the hinges at least once per year/even after they "improved" them, additionally the rubber "feet" break easily.

Do not use Thermo! 3 years ago, we bought 6 Thermo's, within 6 months all were down. We got loaners from Thermo, then they went down, then the company was unresponsive. I replaced all with Helmers.

I agree regarding Helmer EBA-21 very good unit and the Ultra CW for cell washing. Great company, good service, well built product. If you order the EBA-21 you may want to inquire regarding direction of numbers stamped on the head. Ours go clockwise and I prefer counter clockwise. Good Zentrifugen.

Hettich Zentrifugen EBA 21--I have three of them bought them in 2004--no down time. Even my chemistry supervisor liked them and she is using them for STAT spin.
