I decided a few years ago to get my SBB (Back when there was no expiration date). I bought the Blood Groups Antigen Facts Book and studies it in addition to Tech manual and Standards.

Immunohematology has lots of "Reviews of ..." articles that I thought were great! Biggest advise is read, read, read.

I passed the first time without going to SBB school so I guess it worked for me.

I agree with you about the literature you have read, but would also add Geoff Daniels' book, Human Blood Groups.

All new ASCP certifications have a 3-year expiration date. During the 3rd year, you are required to submit a dodument listing 36 continuing education credits/hours, and your certification will be renewed.

I believe up untill 2005 if you got your SBB you do not needed to submit CE to keep your certification current, in other words there was no exp. date.

Hope this works. The 2007 review is in 2 parts (and it's not from Miami - sorry - Miami was 2006). The 2009 review is from AABB New Orleans.
