We have been purchasing Medion 11 cell Panel for several years now. It is

primarily for rare antisera QC and for selected cells. I’m not sure of the cost of this panel. The cells hold up well. We keep selected rare cells off panels beyond their expiration dates. They typically have a cellano negative cell on their panels. The Medion cells hold up better than our other 2 manufacturers. As for a primary panel, sometimes there antigrams are not put together as well as other manufacturers. We run into needing to test extra rule out cells. It fits into our lab well and gives up additional donor panel cells to choose from.

I didn't think they manufacturered anything other than cells that were FDA cleared in the US. However, we haven't researched this company in awhile.

We use Medion 11 cell panel, Data-Cyte Plus and the price is cheaper than the Immucor 10 cell panel.

The Medion vials are large in size... 4 mls each! They have wider notches on their caps for easy opening. Medion cells perform just as well as their competitors.

But....They only put out a panel once a month and they do not always have a cellano negative cell available. (They usually do have a Kpa positive cell.)

I like them very much! Give them a try.

I have been using their panel for about 3 years . . . it is a backup for my 0.8% panels, but it always has a Kpa+ cell and usually a Jsa+. What I don't like - Sometimes it will have up to 5 K+ cells and the antigram paper is 1/2" wider than the usual antigrams (if you put them in a binder they are a bit out of place). I can live with these idiosyncrasies (sp?).
