Do you report your positive test results on donors to your State laboratory?

In my state we are required to report certain diseases when the "patient" presents and the test is a clinical test. I do not interpret it to be a clinical test when applied to a donor.

Thanks.

Cliff, I believe I'm in the same state as you, and we DO report positive donor results.

I am also in the same state, although we no longer have an allogeneic donor program. When we did, we stated in the consent form that if any of the state reportable tests were confirmed positive that we would report it to the state.

We are required to report to the state any confirmed positive transmissible diseases. There actually have 3 different agencies in NM that we have to report to depending on which test is confirmed as positive.
