We are having a hard time getting our screeners to ask more detailed questions about a donors trips to Mexico. Does anyone have any good ideas or tools that work so the right questions are being asked? There is nothing more embarrassing than having to call a donor back a day after their successful donation and asking them for further details on their trip,and then having to tell them they are ineligible to donate for a year. They always ask if their donation the day before will still be good.

Does the question ask in part of the country did you stay? Or ask for a specific town, village, city, etc.? Can you add this to your question that is on the screener? Attach an insert in the screener as a reminder so the question is asked!!! Conduct a more extensive training session with your screeners to express the importance of this.

The company that I work for (IDM) has a product named Prelude that would prompt the screener to ask any additional questions you think should be required. This could be done for any question including the Mexico question.

Our donor centers have developed a job aid to help ensure that the right questions are asked. Of course this only works if the donor tells you that they went to Mexico

Extensive training, including (belive it or not) geography classes for our screeners. MANY EA tools with each mobile unit.
