What brand of cell panels do you use for antibody identification (0,8-1%)?

Hi! The new IVDR regulation means all of our reagents need to be CE certified by may 2025. This causes us great trouble since a lot of our reagents and test cells are either prepared in-house, or acquired from nearest reference lab (who, in turn, produce them theirselves without CE certification).

So, I probably need to find new test cells for antibody identification pretty soon. What producers are there? I know of Labex, Ortho, XboX lab, Nordic Biolabs and Tulip (indian). We'd like to continue using gel cards, so the panel needs to be 0,8-1%.

Please help!

When using Immucor Solid Phase I have Rapid ID, Extend I (all Rh+ cells w 5-6 c neg and e neg cells), Extend II (all Rh neg cells w 1 Rh+) 3% panels:  Immucor Panocell (10 cells + 1 rare cell).

  • Don't whoever makes your gelcards produce reagent cells too? When I worked for NHSBT we used BioVue cells on BioVue cards and BioRad cells on BioRad cards.

Used to use Ortho 0.8% panel A and Panel B

BioRad has 3% and 0.6% panels

Thanks! Forgot BioRad in my list, they do have a panel that's compatible with gel card technique, we've used it before.

When I worked for NHSBT we used BioVue cells on BioVue cards and BioRad cells on BioRad cards.

And also our own (NHSBT) cells for use in tube techniques, and for alloadsorptions.

We use BioRad for all our gel supplies but I know Grifols has gel supplies as well.  We also use Quotient's 16 cell 3-5% panel which is normally outstanding for rule outs.

Yes, we use BioRad gelcards and I know of their panel, looking for others as well, trying to "get to know the market". It might not be as large as I'd hoped though :) Hope to avoid cassettes (ie biovue) Thanks!

We use NHSBT 10 cell panel in Cellstab as our secondary. They also do enzyme treated version. (and 3% NISS version). We have to attach our own barcodes to use them on the IH500 and you might have to talk to BioRad to ask if they can install software to let you use the cells.

Scottish NBS also produce a panel I believe.
