    Does anybody know a specific AABB guideline pertaining to storage of blood outside of Blood Bank ( i.e Operating Rooom, Emergency Department ) ? I would also appreciate if you could share how you handle blood stored in these locations.

    Nurses often call us to inform us if they have a patient that they think is having reaction to the transfusion. Most of the time their question is what to do next ? We would then advise them according to procedure. Questions Is it required to document the time Blood Bank was notified of a possible transfusion reaction ? If so, how would you document it ? Do you follow- up if they didn`t send it for work-up ?
