Breaking the SoftBank interface
All of our orders are done through Order Entry in Softlab. In Softlab, create a new order number containing the products you need to select. Then, when you go to select the units, Soft will give a pop-up box that says patient has a T&S would you like to link this new order to that order. Just click yes and you should be good to go.

Breaking the SoftBank interface
We use Softbank and will start using Epic this May. When we have a massive bleeder and need to make multiple order numbers, we have the option of linking the new order number(s) to the type and screen. That way Softbank knows there is a valid workup and we can continue with electronic xmatches.

Continuing Issues with Ortho Gel Reagents and or Equipment
Have we ever had problems! Ours has lasted for about a month and across at least four different lots of IgG cards. We were told a different company was making the beads for in the gel, and that was why we were having so many problems.

ABO Discrepancies
How old is the patient? Is the patient immune compromised? We see this sort of back type frequently in our oncology/elderly patients.

pneumatic tubes--frequency of broken units
We have been tubing blood products for many years (10 or more) and have never had any breakage. Our hospital uses a SwissLog system. We use the large tubes with padding in each side of the tube. The unit then goes in a zipper pouch, and that goes in the padded tube. Zipper pouches and foam padding were obtained thru SwissLog. Susan.

SoftBank- Outpatient Transfusions and Multiple Accounts
Hi Colleen, We use SoftBank and have encountered this same issue with our oncology clinic, and preadmission testing patients. We use the alternate billing number option so the billing for the units go on the correct account. Susan
