Pediatric transfusions without ISBT labelling available
I believe the US Standard requires that syringes be labeled. Digi-Trax makes a special 4" x 4" blank on-demand label that can be applied to syringes plus all ISBT 128 compliant labels. We have Stand-Alone (HemaTrax) on-demand print system that is lower cost and will print all the required labels.

Handwriting antibody names
On the topic of antigen printing, please know that in 60-90 days, HemaTrax® labeling software will include a utility to print the lower case letters- “c”, “k”, and “s” in white on a black background (reverse print) in the test result text lines for Red Blood Cell Antigen tests. The letters will be easier to read and differentiate in a way that is also ICCBBA/ISBT 128 compliant.

Octaplas and SoftBank
:rolleyes:Hi Softbank users: If you are utilizing HemaTrax in conjunction with SoftBank you can manually enter "X" product codes into your data base and you can create an "X" as the first character in your DIN. The HemaTrax ISBT128 software that is integrated to SoftBank or our stand-alone is capable. If you require any assistance please feel free to contact hcagadas@digi-trax.com or phone 847-613-2114. meditech and TAR
Do any Meditech TAR/BCTA, Cerner, SCC, Sunquest or other user of an automated transfusion verification system use a separate blood transfusion ID Wristband like Typenex or PDC's SecurLine or do you just use the admission bar coded ID band? Richard

Shockwatch Warmmark 2 Blood bag temp. indicator
In response to your postings, Digi-Trax is a distributor of the Shockwatch product, and we just wanted to share some additional tips. When using the blood bag temperature indicators, it’s really important to keep the blood bags as far from the refrigerator door as possible. Opening and closing of the refrigerator door, even for a short period, can affect the temperature of the bag. Because the indicators read the core temperature of the bag, rather than the ambient air, one should place the tag where the greatest amount of blood resides (typically near the center of the bag, not the top). If any of you are having issues, and would like an on-site assessment to help you optimize your use of the blood temp indicators, please let me know. Also, Shockwatch is in the process of obtaining a 510(k) and anticipates having approval for this product in the next few months. Michelle
